R.I.P Shaun McGlue - Funeral Arrangements

Our Associations of Referees were a vital part of the Halbro North West Leagues operating in the regions of the Competitions but originating in the North West indeed from the Hoppers Club.

We have heard the sad news that one of our stalwart Referees Mr. Shaun McGlue (Father Christmas to all our players) has unfortunately passed away. He was a renowned figure in the Referee fraternity, refereeing every week at any destination. If he didn’t have a game on a particular Saturday he would make things very uncomfortable for us.

Shaun apart from anything else was just a decent fella and popular with all. He will be missed by many people and our sympathies go to all his family from, I’m certain, everyone connected with the Halbro Leagues both as an administrator or indeed a player.

Thank you all for your lovely messages. Dad lived and breathed his Rugby and would rarely miss a Saturday during the season. Fylde was a huge part of his life. Dad’s funeral confirmed now 15th July at 2pm Lytham Crematorium then on to Fylde Rugby Club for drinks, food, jazz band and to celebrate dad’s life!
