Infringements this week.
Both Leigh and Marple infringed Rule 13 this week. They conceded a more senior team. They will have points deducted.
All Leagues are sorted except 4 South and 5 North. In 4S Congleton 2s could knock Macclesfield 4 from the Runners Up spot. In 5 North Orrell 2s could become champions pushing Leyland Warriors into the Runners up spot.
Our Referees generally take a "little" criticism, so it is great to hear of some praise and for someone from a Club to take the time to forward the words of praise !!! See from John Porteius Leigh RUFC.
Hopefully to clarify Promotion and Relegation issues Sides who are in Promotion and Relegation positions are indicated by the shaded areas on the League Tables. Promotion Teams are guaranteed promotion if at the end of the season they are in the Green shaded area. Except if teams in the top positions are equal on League Points then Rule 16 will come into play to sort out the order. We may also promote more than the number indicated. Relegation Teams may be relegated if at the end of the season they are in the Pink shaded area on the League Tables. This is irrespective of teams who have left the Leagues. Again Rule 16 decides teams on equal League Points. We may also relegate less than the number indicated.

Some great pictures by Vale's Chief Photographer Mr. Tony North from yesterdays Vale v Wilmslow fixture at Vale's Powderhouse Lane !!!!
County Couriers Div. 2 North Vale of Lune 3rd XV 72 pts v 40 pts North West Mercians 1st XV
The Mercians arrived at Powderhouse Lane with 7 players - an extreme effort but must be noted that our Rules do allow sides to fulfil fixtures when there might be a depletion in players, to prevent conceding - and enjoyed a most competitive high speed game after the necessary loan of players had been completed. Maybe numbers of concedes and sides leaving us would be reduced considerably if Clubs/Sides travelled or fulfilled their fixtures in cases such as the above. Pictures by Vale's Chief Photographer Mr. Tony North.
